Born on the Water

Dublin Bay Sea Safaris isn't simply a boat tour. It was created by people who know these waters, work on them and have spent years making their living from the sea.

The company was founded by local fisherman Ivan Toole, who has worked the waters off the Wicklow and Dublin coast for many years. Ivan is also the founder of Golden Venture Fishing Limited, an active Irish commercial fishing company based in County Wicklow and operating from Greystones Harbour.

Established in 2016, Golden Venture specialises in traditional inshore pot fishing for lobster, crab and whelk. That working knowledge of the sea, the coastline, changing conditions and local marine life is very much part of Dublin Bay Sea Safaris today.

From Fishing Boats to Sea Safaris

Dublin Bay Sea Safaris grew from a simple idea: to give more people the opportunity to experience this extraordinary stretch of coastline from the water.

Our tours depart from Greystones and Dún Laoghaire, taking passengers out into the Dublin Bay UNESCO Biosphere and along a coastline that our crew know exceptionally well.

You'll see familiar landmarks from a completely different perspective – from Bray Head and Sorrento Point to Dalkey Island and the Baily Lighthouse – as well as hidden coves, dramatic coastline and the seals, seabirds and seasonal marine wildlife that make their home here.

And because the sea is our workplace as well as our playground, no two trips are exactly the same. Conditions change, wildlife moves and there is always something different to see.
